Mr. Sequeira is a PhD student at the Whittle Lab. He was an undergraduate of the Cambridge University Engineering Department, where he specialised in Aerospace and Aerothermal Engineering. He has worked on a range of aerospace related subjects in the past with Rolls-Royce in Derby-UK, ONERA in Meudon-France and the VKI in Rhode.St.Genese-Belgium. He is now applying his knowledge of fluid mechanics to the development of Tidal Stream Turbines as part of a PhD in collaboration with R-R Plc and Alstom Ocean (previously TGL) under the supervision of Dr. Rob Miller. He is a member of Churchill College.

Research Interests

  • Loss mechanisms of Horizontal Axis Tidal Stream Turbines
  • Modelling of the unsteady gust response of Tidal Stream Turbines
  • Novel tidal power extraction technologies

Supervises Churchill College students for Cambridge Tripos Part 1A Paper 1: Mechanics, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics; and Paper 2: Structures
